Why does love have to be misunderstood

Why is it so hard to demonstrate love when it comes out as something else to the loved one?
How can a hug and an "I'm sorry." come out to be,
"You just pity me and I don't want  your pity." 
"I feel sorry enough for myself without your pity."
I pray, I ask God to help me know the words to say.
I encourage, brag on her and feel a love so deep I feel my heart will break.
I just feel such a failure as a mother.
I guess she feels such a failure as a daughter.

    I think being a mother is the hardest job in the world... I have 3 grown sons and go through this too... It's all part of the package of Motherhood... I'll be praying for you Sweetie...

    Some times there is no right thing to do-she's gonna feel what she feels no matter what you say. You do your best, that's all you can do. I'm sure it will pass.
